Arctic Hope Alaskan Malamutes: Great Working Dogs and Pets

At Arctic Hope, we strive to produce sound, healthy, standard-sized malamutes with good work ethic and wonderful temperaments.

We test our dogs' work ethic by earning backpacking, sledding and weight pulling titles through the Alaskan Malamute Club of America (AMCA).

We test their soundness (type, structure and movement) by showing our dogs to their conformation championships through the American Kennel Club (AKC).

We test their temperaments by earning Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification through the AKC, Temperament Test (TT) certification through the American Temperament Test Society, and Therapy Dog (ThD) certification through Therapy Dogs, Inc and Therapy Dogs International. And now we're branching out into competition obedience, rally obedience, and eventually into agility.

Finally, we test health by obtaining ChD (chondrodysplasia or "dwarfism"), OFA (hip and elbow dysplasia) and CERF (cataracts) certification.

Sadly, we lost Glacier at 14 yrs young. He is sorely missed every day!
Xarri and Penny finished the requirements for their WPD titles!
Asik and her littermates turned 4 yrs old! Can't be!!

Xarri took WD on Fri and Sun at the New Castle, PA, shows over Memorial weekend!

April 2010

Xarri placed 3rd in the Bred-by-Exhibitor class at the Mid-East Area Specialty on 17 April, and 2nd in the BBE class and Reserve Winners Dog at the Alaskan Malamute Association of Eastern Pennsylvania Affiliate Specialty on 18 April!
Xarri and Penny completed the 2nd leg toward their WPD titles.

March 2010

Xarri and Quinn both took their first major win at the Pittsburgh, PA, shows!
Malik (Xarri's brother in Germany) sired his first litter: 8 colorful and beautiful babies (4 females, 4 males)! The breeder is Connie Hammenshoej, Yellowsnow Malamutes, Denmark.
The Double T' litter is 2 years old! Happy birthday, babies!!
