Lentaba Lodge, the base camp, is situated in the heart of Lalibela Game Reserve, only 60 miles from the seaside resort city of Port Elizabeth. The lodge consists of 8 individual chalets, swimming pool, lapa, 2 bars and central entertainment area.

Each chalet is equiped with a private bath and veranda, a hairdryer and telephone. Each accommodates up to 2 people with double or single beds.

From your private veranda, you will be able to watch the animals as they roam the hills in front of your chalet. All your laundry and housekeeping is taken care of by the first-rate staff while you enjoy your safari.

Depending on when you end your day's excitement, you may chose to relax around a cosy fireplace in our main lodge.

Enjoy the wonderful South African sunshine around our beautiful pool and "lapa."

Our magnificent thatched "lapa" is complete with bar/lounge area, a full-size pool table and card tables for your enjoyment.

Drinks can be enjoyed while overlooking the bush and viewing elephants, rhino, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and hundreds of other animals found on the Lalibela Game Reserve.

After a hard day of hunting, most of the action can be found around the main bar in the central living area.  Here you can recount the days events with your Professional Hunter and the rest of the camp while enjoying your favorite beverage and relaxing before a great meal. Of course, all John X Safaris include liquor, beer, wine and soft drinks.

Gourmet meals are served around the fire in our spectacular open air circular dining room, which adjoins the main lodge.

The chef produces excellent South African cuisine, sure to please the most discriminating palate. Many evenings, you will be able to enjoy delicious kudu, impala, springbok or blesbuck, but don't worry, there is always the option of domestic meat at every meal.

And the desserts are beyond belief!

On special nights, you will be entertained by native dancers.
