Kudu

John X Safaris employs some of the most experienced Professional Hunters in the country. As a result, numerous Top 10 trophies have been taken by their clients, including the new #1 East Cape Kudu for 1997 and a 16" Cape Bushbuck, one of the best taken for many years in the Eastern Cape.

Their  reputation among the landowners in South Africa has secured them no less than 3 million acres on which to hunt, ranging from vast semi-desert to dense bush, mountains and large grasslands. They offer over 40 different huntable species of game. Although they specialize in plainsgame (including the rare White and Black Springbuck) and White Rhino, tailor-made packages are available to suit the particular needs of our clients. As we have already mentioned, they offer hunting with dogs, which has proven to be very popular with our clients. In 1998, they introduced wing shooting, which has been very successful. They offer combination game and bird hunts or bird hunts only. As some clients also enjoy fishing, their facilities include both bottom and deep-sea fishing trips.

Rhino

We offer hunts from a minimum of 3 days to the ideal period of 10 days. The maximum number of hunters allowed in camp at one time is 10 (excluding their guests). Handgun and Bow Hunters are most welcome.

Professional Guides

They have 8 highly qualified full-time Professional Hunters and trackers in their employ. If needed, they also have the use of 5 freelance Professional Hunters.

Because you are familiar with your own weapons, we encourage you to bring them with you. South African Airways is extremely efficient regarding the transportation of firearms. We recommend that you use this airline from your departure point to your arrival in Port Elizabeth.

Sunset in Africa

South Africa has vast temperature variations depending on the season - as low as 26°F in winter months and as high as 104°F in summer (normally November through February). We suggest that you bring a wind-proof jacket and at least one warm sweater. All clothing worn while on safari should be a neutral color, such as khaki or green.
